JAKARTA - The game industry is one industry that has long depended on the latest technology and the Internet.

"Game has been here since a long time and it only continues to change its form and media. With the rapid development of technology and gadgets, game industry now is even more growing, "said Andi Suryanto, President of AGI (Association of Indonesian Game) in MNC Tower, on Thursday (05/11/2015).

However, he thought that in terms of infrastructure, the gaming industry in Indonesia still needs a lot of support.

"Moreover, based on research conducted, the revenue that can be generated was USD321 M from game industry and we have increased our rank continuously each year. This year we were ranked 24th, "he explained.

Therefore, he expected each stakeholder to join together and initiative to encourage and facilitate the gaming industry in Indonesia. Eva Muliawati, CEO Megaxus, assured that gaming industry in Indonesia is very promising and its impact will also be felt by the young people of this country.

"Of the 14.2 million gamers is dominated by players who are 15-20 years old. Moreover, adult also work in the studio of game developers," said Eva.

In a discussion meeting between the AGI and CEO of MNC Group Hary Tanoesoedibjo (HT), they discussed the steps to develop the domestic gaming industry.

"The first is to build the industry. This is the most difficult step but we proof our commitment in this stage. Second, we need to create a product or content from the local gaming industry that can compete with foreign content. Well, we should also persuade the government to create all the regulations required, "said HT.

He added that all content utilizing the Internet is still very large. "The form of the content may not just a game, but game is popular in the young generation so that the gaming industry is potential to be developed," said HT.

Realizing that most of the gaming industry has the problem of funds for the development of more interesting content, HT also warned there need to be a venture capital or investor formed by stakeholders in the country.

On the occasion, HT was appointed as Board of Trustees of AGI.
